At Sisters Catering and Events, we believe that the most meaningful moments are shared over a meal. Inspired by my mother’s love for food and gatherings, I’ve always known that food is more than just nourishment—it’s a way to bring people together, create connections, and serve joy with every bite.
My story begins in the heart of Southern hospitality. Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, food was everything. My most cherished memories were of a home filled with friends, family, and the aromas of my mom’s cooking. Raised in Kabul, Afghanistan, my mom came from a culture that prided itself on opening one’s home to guests and welcoming them with the utmost warmth. I’m so grateful to her for passing these values on to me, and that I have the privilege of extending that heart and hospitality to the Bay Area.
In high school, I moved to Fremont when my mom and her best friend opened a banquet hall there to continue her legacy of love. With their arrival, the Bay Area's Afghan food scene transformed as their authentic recipes became a beloved community staple. In 2018 my mom’s legacy was passed on to me and I carried on her work at the wedding venue. Taking away the stress of planning and creating beautiful memories of life’s most special occasions has been my greatest joy. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to use my 18 years of experience to bring people together around delicious food.
